How to Register

Our guidelines serve to keep our garden functioning – helping us accomplish our mission, protect our volunteers, members, and gardeners, and otherwise aid us in providing the services the North Country needs. We have made our registration process as easy as possible – please let us know if you need assistance.

  1. Complete the Community Garden Registration Form – this form allows you to use our garden, grow your own food, and be a part of our community. There is no submission deadline – we welcome gardeners all year, at all times. Please note that active members must complete the form if you wish to use our garden.
  2. Email us your completed form. Once you submit your registration form, we will email you more details.

If you wish to no longer be a member, please contact us.

A Member vs. A Gardener

Do you want to support our mission without wanting to garden? You can still register as a member, and have all of the benefits we provide. Membership entitles you to access to the garden provided that plots are free, and the proper registration steps are taken. All gardeners are members, but not all members are gardeners. Membership is the perfect way to support our group and what we do. Membership is recommended for anyone wanting to be a part of their community, to be a part of our mission, and to help support the North Country.

To become a member:

            1. Complete the Membership Form – this form makes you a full member of our group.

            2. Email us your completed form. Once you submit your membership form, we will email you more details.

Benefits of Membership

By becoming a member, you are automatically eligible for several benefits that we offer. As our membership base grows, and as we have more funding, the more benefits we can offer our members. We want to give our loyal members the best experience possible, and want to include you as much as possible. If you are a member, we will alert you when new benefits are added.

           1. Weekly newsletter – we release a weekly newsletter that is emailed to the email of your choice. This newsletter updates you on the progress of our group, our events, new members, volunteer highlights, tips, and other relevant news. [Jul. 2025]

            2. Garden access – if you are a member, you are eligible to be a gardener. All gardeners are members. Our garden will offer 40 plots, sturdily built, and will provide you with the seeds for planting. The garden allows you to be self-sufficient, reduce your cost of living, and otherwise develop your gardening skills.

            3. Training – we offer training in gardening, agriculture, and other related skills. These provide for valuable educational opportunities and are the perfect addition to your resume. Taught by professionals, and for you.

            4. Community – fellow members are part of the same community. We are a community, united towards our mission, and passionate about what we do. If you need a community, or simply want to be involved in something, we are here for you. We will support you as much as we can. If you want community, we are here for you. If you want to meet others, we are here for you.

            5. Volunteer experience – all volunteers are members. Volunteer experience helps you give back to your community, get involved, and help the people around you. When you volunteer for us, you volunteer for Plattsburgh. When you volunteer for us, you volunteer for the North Country.

We plan to offer more benefits – stay tuned.
